Active instances debit the same USD wallet when the period ends. You get one email a day for the three days before that charge. The honest move is to top up before the due date, not after the box is already dark.
If the balance is short when the period ends, billing emails you and tries to destroy the host VM. Disks and IPs are gone. Unused prepaid time is not refunded. That is the unpaid path on the FAQ. It is not a pause you can sleep through and revive later with a $20 send.
A suspended row in the console is a different state. The instance can still be on the account. Desk can hold a box for policy. Billing can also leave a box suspended if a destroy did not finish. In both cases, do not assume the disk is safe forever.
A new deploy is a new disk. Do not open a second instance to “replace” a held box if you still want the files on the first one.
If you still have time on the clock
Open Wallet and add at least enough to cover the next period. The customer top-up floor is still $20, even if the plan itself is cheaper than that. The same wallet pays every live instance. One empty balance can take down more than one box.
Wait for the chain to confirm before you treat the credit as spent. Bitcoin on-chain is usually about ten minutes. USDT on TRC-20 is often a few minutes. Monero is closer to twenty and needs the payment ID on the invoice. A quote that dies is a new invoice, not a send to the old address.
What the reminder mail is for
Those three daily notes are the window. They are not a grace period after the due date. If you wait until the period has already ended, the unpaid path is destroy, not a polite suspend you can reverse from this public site.
If the console already says suspended
- Read the notice on the instance. A desk hold is not fixed by another top-up.
- If the copy says add funds, top up and open the instance under servers.
- If the wallet shows a balance and the box stays off, open a ticket and name the hostname.
Replies also go to the email on the account. This public site cannot send credentials or flip power for you.
Desk hold versus wallet
Support can suspend a box under the Acceptable use policy — floods, open relays, unsolicited bulk email, malware, phishing, and the rest of that list. Adding funds will not lift a desk hold. A ticket is the path. Paying in crypto does not change the policy.
If you rebuild after you give up on a held disk, the wipe is permanent. Take a snapshot first if you still want a rollback.
Billing questions that are not urgent are on the FAQ. If the period has already ended and the instance is gone, fund the wallet and deploy a new box.
