Gitea on Vpster is a one-click app: a lightweight Git service with a web UI, installed on Ubuntu. Repositories, users, and SSH keys for Git live on that disk. You get root SSH and a dedicated IPv4 after the wallet debit.
Fund the USD wallet from $20, pick a city that has IPv4 stock, and pick Gitea. Access is instant. The same mail that carries the root password carries the first-login steps for the web UI.
You administer the forge. Plugin updates, backups, and who can register are yours after that mail.
Keep the repositories
A rebuild installs a fresh image and deletes the repos on the live disk. Copy the repositories off, or take a snapshot, before you rebuild or change OS. Reset password is the action that keeps the disk when you only lost the login.
The web UI and Git SSH should not stay open to the whole internet if you meant a private forge. Restrict them the way you would restrict any other service on the public address.

Docker and Portainer are separate apps on the same catalog. Gitea is the Git service. A bare Ubuntu image is the path if you would rather install Git yourself.
Start from Apps or Deploy. Lawful use still applies, including on a private forge. The policy is the acceptable use page.
